A group of 6 people sit around a table that has papers and books and a laptop on. The group is a mix of genders and races, and most of them are sitting on a blue sofa, with one individual at the edge of the sofa sitting on a brown stool, and then next to them, someone else is sitting in their wheelchair with their laptop on their knees. They are all looking at a woman wearing a hijab, blazer, and long black skirt, who is pointing to a flipchart obviously giving some kind of presentation or talk to the group. It all looks relatively informal, with low lighting and lots of smiles and messiness visible in the background, so it doesn't have a stuffy office feel.

Mission Statement

ACHE (Alliance for Care and Health Empowerment) was borne out of a desire to turn the disempowering and traumatising experiences too many of us are suffering under current health &/or care systems, and build something where we can come together and share the incredible knowledge and wisdom that we have gathered in the face of deep neglect from people we were taught would supposedly provide us with that care externally.

We have become our own — and each other's — teachers, recognising that we have always been the experts on our own bodies, and that we should be the ones doing more of the work in this field! At ACHE we aren't ever looking for you to prove yourself with academic or professional qualifications your lived experiences and unique perspectives that you bring to the table are far more exciting.

We are interested in where our work can make present-day navigations existing systems easier, while we also work to build a future where our conceptualisations of "medicine" and "care" are so much bigger and more exciting, and part of a freer world for all.
